Daisy got braces!

Daisy was so excited when she woke up this morning because today she was going to get her braces put on and also because she smelled the banana bread that was in the oven that her daddy had baked especially for her. He knows how much she likes banana bread and wanted to make sure she had some for this special day, as well making sure she had a full tummy because we didn't know how long it was going to take and if she would even be able to eat lunch after she got her braces on, as we didn't know how sore her mouth would be. We arrived at the Orthodontist at 9:00am and they took us right back. They explained what they were going to be doing to her and that there would be NO pain, which was the important part to her. Dr. Cain says "We're the good guys", LOL! She was such a trooper, she layed in that chair for almost 3 hours and never complained. She was finally done about 11:30am and was starving and thirsty. We took her to McDonald's where she ate chicken nuggets, french fries and drank Hi-C. She only got wire on her bottom teeth. She has to go to the regular dentist to have a tooth extracted so there is room for her canine to come in, once the tooth is extracted we will take her back to have the wire put on her top braces. Hopefully the canine tooth will come out correctly, especially with a little help from Dr. Cain, otherwise she will have to go to an Oral Surgeon and we don't want to do that. She is learning what she can and can't eat and remembering to brush her teeth after every meal, which she will have to do at school as well. Here are some before, during and after pictures of Daisy. Bobby thought I was crazy taking pictures but according to Dr. Cain everyone does it. I was thinking what great scrapbook pages these will make, LOL!

I'm so sad.......Terry moved to Oregon:(

Terry, one of my best friends at work moved to Hood River, Oregon this morning. Her last day of work was yesterday, it was so hard to say goodbye to her. She wouldn't say "goodbye" she said "I'll see you later". I am going to miss her so much. She made work so enjoyable, had an infectious laugh and I could talk to her about anything and everything. We both confided each other all the time. She is a great graphic artist and did a great job on my ads, especially cuz she knows how anal I am about certain things, LOL! Terry, if you are reading this (which you better be, LOL) you will truly be missed and Bobby and I will definitely come and see you and Scott. Don't forget to have the Grey Goose and Red Bull waiting for us, LOL! Take care friend and know that I love you!

Weekend

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, I know I am! Yesterday my daughter, mother, aunt and mother in law came over for a visit and lunch. Bobby grilled for an army. We had barbecue ribs, steak, chicken, baked potatoes, asparagus and WINE!!! Had to have wine for my crazy mother and Aunt Carmen. We watched the DVD of Michael Buble live in concert in LA and they absolutely loved it! My mom and mother in law had seen it before but that was the first time for Aunt Carmen and she kept saying how much she enjoyed it. We ate dinner at our new dinette set so I guess you could say we de-virginized it, LOL! It was nice to have the first meal at our new table with them. My mom just turned 85 last Monday, my Aunt Carmen (her baby sister) is 73, and Ofelia (Bobby's mother) is 79. We had such a nice time visiting with them. They were here at 11am and before we knew it it was 4:30. Time flies when you're having fun. Bobby went to the grocery store early Sat. morning and surprised me with a dozen roses, they are opening up and are gorgeous! It's so nice to have someone spoil me, he's such a sweetheart! Today we are laying around watching football and I'm also doing laundry. The Vikings finally won their first game today so Bobby is in a good mood!!! Now the Cardinals, well that's a different story. I hope everyone has a good week and hopefully I'll post soon. Daisy gets her braces on this Friday so I'm sure I'll be posting about that along with pictures. Until than......

Happy 22nd Birthday Angelo

Today is Angelo's 22nd birthday. We had him, Amanda and Caden over for dinner and a little party. Bobby grilled steak, and grilled the baked potatoes. His birthday cake was chocolate caramel and it was yummy, I even had a little piece, LOL! He loved all his presents and especially the picture frame that Caden gave him that says "Daddy and Me!", so cute! September is a huge birthday month for us. Mine was 9/3, my niece/God Daughter Tina's is 9/4, Angelo 9/9, Bobby's grandson son Carson will be One on 9/13, my mom's is 9/15, my niece Jena and her son Brenton 9/17, my niece Val's is 9/18, along with several cousins who also have September birthdays. Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday and I turned 49!!!! OMG, my last year in my 40's, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last time I celebrate my birthday cuz I'm not looking forward to the BIG 50!!! Although for being 49 I sure don't feel like it, actually I still feel like I'm in my 30's, LOL! Bobby and the kids took me out to dinner at Applebee's and than afterwards I took Daisy to register for her Cheer/Pom class which she thoroughly enjoyed. She will be in 3 parades and than they also have state championships. She looked so cute up there, I wanted to take pictures but they wouldn't allow us :( Well, here a few pics that were taken at Applebee's.

R.I.P. My Dear Friend Eric Parker

I received a phone call last Thursday from Connie (one of my best friends) that her ex-husband Eric and long time friend of mine had a stroke of some kind and was in the hospital on life support and didn't look like he was going to make it as there was no brain activity at all. This was quite the shock to me, how could this be happening to Eric, he was only 49 years old and going to be retiring from The City of Mesa in 6 weeks and move to Rocky Point, he was so looking forward to this. Last time I saw him was last October at his oldest daughters wedding, Melissa. Well I told Connie that I wanted to go to the hospital and see him but Connie talked me out of it, she said I shouldn't go and just to remember him like he was. One thing about Eric, he was always smiling and had a beer in his hand, such a happy go lucky guy. You see, I have known Eric since high school, I met him when I started attending Seton Catholic High School in the 10Th grade. Apparently Eric had always said that he never wanted to have any type of memorial service, that he just wanted to have everyone get together somewhere. So Eric's "Get Together" will be this Thursday at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Ahwatukee from 4:00pm to 9:00pm to celebrate his life.

May you rest in peace my friend, I love you!

Labor Day 2008

I think we need to get a baby gate!!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend! We really didn't do anything this weekend so it was nice and relaxing, although today Frances and her family came over for a barbecue and swimming. The water was cooler than usual and that made it so much more refreshing. Daisy had a great time swimming and playing with her niece and nephews. Well, back to work tomorrow but just think, only 4 days to go than it's the weekend again!
