Today was Micah's very first day of school, kindergarten! He is my oldest grandson. I can't believe how fast the last 5 years have gone. Micah you are such a big boy, I wish I could have been there on your first day of school to share in your joy and excitement. Nana loves and misses you so much, hopefully soon I will make a trip to San Jose to see you and your brother Mateo. Next year Lil' Richie will start kindergarten and than the year after that Mateo will start kindergarten. Holy cow, where are my babies? Mindy is expecting another boy on January 20, 2009 so hopefully these next 5 years won't go by so fast. This "Nana to 3 Boyz" soon to be "Nana to 4 Boyz" wants her babies to stay small because the older they get, the older I get!

The "Before" and "After" of ME!!
Before; March 15, 2008
After; August 23, 2008 Down 50 lbs. & 5 sizes
As of today I am down a total of 50 lbs. For those of you that have known me for awhile know that I have tried just about every diet out there and nothing seemed to work, until I found "MEDI WEIGHTLOSS". Their system WORKS!!! I was actually on Weight Watchers when I went to visit the owner Char in January to talk to her about advertising in our paper. We were talking about diets and I told her I had just started Weight Watchers. She said she was happy for me but if for some reason I wasn't getting the results I wanted to give her a call. She went on to say how she had lost 60 lbs. and she believed in their program so much that she went on to open up her location in Peoria and also own the rights to all of the future ones to open in Arizona. Well, I kinda followed the WW program for about 3 months and decided I needed to do something else, I had only lost 5 lbs. and just couldn't stick to the program. I was going to visit Char anyway about a change to her ad copy for the paper the following week and told her I was interested in her program. So on April 1, 2008 I officially started the Medi Weightloss program and today, August 26, 2008 I am officially down 50 lbs. and 5 sizes!!! This program is so easy and their slogan "the one that works" is definitely true. So judge for yourself, here are my before and after pics. The before picture was taken at Bobby's mom birthday party on March 15, 2008 and the after picture was taken this past weekend in Sedona, August 23, 2008. If anyone wants more information on this program visit their website and let me know.

Sedona
Our trip to Sedona was great! We got there about 2:30 Friday afternoon, checked into our room at the Los Abrigado's Resort, checked out the suite and than headed to the pool. The pool was cool which made it very refreshing. They had a really nice bar set up by the pool so Bobby was in heaven, LOL! Afterwards we located the grills by our room and barbecued some rib eye steaks, yummy! After dinner we sat out on the patio to let our food settle and than went for a walk and we found the most beautiful park by the creek. It was really dark so couldn't see it very good so the next morning at around 6:30am (yes, I go up that early) we went back. We were correct, it is so beautiful and peaceful! The ducks were out, the creek was running, such a beautiful setting. We could have spent our whole day there, but unfortunately check out time was at noon and Bobby wanted to take a drive to Slide Rock and check out some camp grounds on the road on your way to Flagstaff. We got up there and it was 61 degrees, I was cold, LOL! I had my flip flops on and my little tootsies were freezing! We found a camp site that we'd like to try but I don't want to go till next summer, its too cold right now. It was a nice drive. When we got back to the resort we decided to head out to the pool, we got in the jacuzzi and than into the pool for about an hour. After we checked out we walked around Tlaquepacque and than downtown Sedona where we had lunch at the Canyon Breeze. The time went by so fast, we did allot but yet it was very relaxing. But "there's no place like home"! Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Pink Ribbon Tour
I listen to Dave Pratt, Stacy Brooks and Shappy every morning on KMLE Country and this morning Stacy's friend was on the radio talking about his Pink Ribbon Tour. His name is Dave Graybill and he is a Glendale Fire Fighter who is going to be touring the US for 60+ days in a pink fire truck to promote breast cancer awareness. He said that one day he just woke up and this is something he had to do. He also said that he was in Starbucks and some woman wrote him a check for $13,500 to buy this fire truck. He will be leaving this Sunday from Arrowhead Mall in Glendale and first stop I believe is going to be Tucson, AZ. I work for a Glendale/Peoria newspaper so first thing I did when I got into work this morning is go and talk to the Editor to see if we were going to be covering this and gave her the information about when/where he will be leaving from this Sunday. So yes, our reporter will be there covering this and getting pictures for our paper next week. Check out his blog, it's pretty interesting and it's a great cause!

Nana to FOUR (4) Boyz!!!!
Today I went with Mindy to have her ultrasound and she's having another boy!!! We were so hoping for a little girl but no, it's a boy. But most importantly, he is PERFECT, as the ultrasound man said. Her due date is Jan. 11, 2009 but he said she can call the office this week and that may change, after he looks more thoroughly at the ultrasound. So I guess I will be changing my blog name to "Nana To 4 Boyz!".

Daisy first day of 4th grade!
Oh how she's grown! Yesterday was Daisy's first day of school and I can't believe that she is already in the 4th grade. She's such a big girl but than she's still a baby, our baby! She is such a princess and such a good little girl. Ask me if she's a good girl in 5 years and hopefully I can tell you the same, LOL! Also, it was Brandon's first day of his SENIOR year but he wouldn't let me take any pictures. He's such a GUY!!!! Every year I take Daisy's picture on the first day of school in the same spot, so through the years we'll see how much she's grown. That reminds me, Bobby needs to take her in the garage to measure her, he has her height marked up since she was about 4 years old. Well, I'm off to watch the olympics, until my next post.

My Beautiful Mother
Today Bobby and I went to visit my mother and we had lunch with her and my kids. We had a really nice time and enjoyed our visit. We got to watch some of the Olympics with her and we were reminicing how her and I used to watch them together when I was a little girl. My mother is the most amazing woman I know and is truely an angel. For those of you who know her I know you would agree with me. I am blessed to have such a wonderful mother.

Bailey is HOME!!!!
OMG, this is a true miracle! Terry called me this morning at 7:30am to tell me that Baily is home and she did it all by herself!!!! She traveled about 5 miles and had to cross Grand Ave. to make her way home. She came up missing at Terry's sister-in-laws house on Tuesday afternoon and they have done everything to try and locate her. Well, this morning around 2:00am Zoe (her other little dog) started barking and woke Terry up (her husband Scott is in Oregon, they are moving there). Anyway, so she got up and heard noises like someone was shaking the gate and trying to get in. She got the phone and was thinking about calling 911 and than she looked down and there were TWO dogs there....Zoe AND Bailey. She freaked out and couldn't believe it. Bailey had found her way home, dug under the RV gate and came in the doggie door. This is a true miracle. I was telling Terry the other day that maybe she's trying to find her way home as I have heard of dogs doing that and SHE DID!!!! She immediately called her husband who was estatic and her sister-in-law Teresa who immediately came over and stayed with her until 5:00am as she needed her to come over to let her know this wasn't all a dream and that it had really happened. What a happy ending and I'm so glad that she gets to spend the weekend with her. I know she won't be letting her out of her sight all weekend. She said she looked good, still had her collar (came off by the gate when she was digging to get in the backyard), and was limping a bit with a few stickers. She said she was going to take her to the vet to be checked out. I know I will see that beautiful smile on Terry's face when I see her in the office on Monday morning. I think I need to go now to love on Koda and Teddy!

Lost Dog
Terry, my best friend at work lost her dog Bailey yesterday afternoon in the vicinity of 89th Ave. and Olive in Peoria. Here is a picture of Bailey in case you are in the area or might see her. Terry and her husband Scott are so heartbroken and so is there other dog Zoe and cat Lucy. I hate to see them this way. Please, please pray for the return of Bailey, she means everything to them. Thank you!

PETE PALLAGI/TODAY STAFF
Tommi nurtures her infant son at Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park. The baby, standing 6-feet, 6-inches tall, was born a few weeks ago. He is being introduced to the public at the zoo, 16501 W. Northern Ave. Zoo hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
This was in the Glendale Today paper today, I thought it was soooooo cute! I might have to take Daisy to the zoo next weekend to see the little baby.
The zoo is only about 5 minutes from our house. If you've never been to the Wildlife World Zoo you really should. It's a great zoo, small but lots of animals and they have just built a new aquarium. Enjoy!

Beautiful Sunset Again Tonight
Yes, again tonight there was another beautiful sunset. These pictures are taken from our backyard. Bobby and I went out on the patio to talk and play with the dogs and I immediately had to go inside and get my camera. He says I have enough pictures of sunsets and they all look the same.....he just doesn't get it does he? LOL! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I hope everyone had a good Saturday. It seemed like mine was spent all day school shopping and I'm exhausted. I'm so glad it's over with but I'm sure we forgot something and will end up back at the store before school starts next week. Well, just wanted to say hello and I'm sure I'll be checking in tomorrow.
