Beautiful Day!

Today was a beautiful day! We got up early went to church and than came home and started cooking our turkey with all of the trimmings. Angelo, Amanda and Caden joined us. Caden is growing up so fast! He is 10 months and is starting to walk, in a couple of weeks he'll be running around the house! I still have a few more gifts to get and a whole lotta presents to wrap. I'm too tired to wrap tonight so I'll have to do it all tomorrow. Bobby's work shuts down the plant every year for two weeks at this time, must be nice huh? This week and next week I only work Monday and Tuesday so I guess I can't complain. Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend and I wish you all a good week. I'm sure I'll check back in before Christmas, but just in case I wish you all a very blessed Christmas.

Arizona Sunsets!

The sunset driving home from work tonight was absolutely beautiful! I was taking some shots while driving and than decided to pull over on the side of the road to take some, thought it would be safer, LOL! I've noticed that since I've moved to the West Valley the sunsets are much more beautiful on this side of town especially up against the White Tank mountains. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

My First NFL Game!

Yesterday Bobby and I attended the Arizona Cardinals/Minnesota Vikings game at University of Phoenix Stadium with some employees from his work. What a great time we had. The weather was brrrrr....brrrrrr......brrrrr....cold, but isn't it suppose to be like that for football. We ate, drank, played games, etc. It was a long but fun day. We had chilly bomber shots at 9am, had the police come by out tailgate to tell us "No beer drinking games allowed, per Arizona Cardinals". Which we couldn't understand as you can drink all the beer, hard liquor you want but just don't make a game out of it, what the difference? LOL! Bobby was very happy the Vikings won so it was a good day for him. What a beautiful sunset as we were packing up everything. I think Subzero Freezer is planning on making this a yearly thing, woohoo!!!

Black Friday!

This morning Bobby and I were out the door at 5:45am heading up to Cottonwood to hit the Super Walmart before we went to Prescott. We were able to get the last 3 V-tech hand held video games for my 3 grandsons and some other great gift deals for various members of our family as well as some fun stuff for us. After Walmart we headed up to Jerome where we went into a little restaurant where I had coffee to warm up and Bobby had a beer and an awesome Bloody Mary that was made with Chile soaked peppers. Afterwards we drove to Prescott and went to Bucky's Casino. This is the first time I have been to this casino, it's very small but very nice, especially because I walked out with some extra money in my pocket. Helped out with that $400 we spent at Walmart, LOL! We were home by 6:00pm and we had a great day! So tomorrow I get to clean the house and afterwards we're going to put up the Christmas tree, decorate the house and wrap the gifts. Well, hopefully Bobby will help with me with the Christmas decorating in between him building our built in barbeque. Yes, he is on another one of his projects. I'll post pics when it's completed! Oh yeah, and tonight we get to babysit our beautiful little Caden, can't wait! I hope everyone has a great weekend and happy shopping!

Christian and Stephanie Nielson (plane crash survivors)

Not sure if any of you are following the story and or blog for Christian and Stephanie Nielson of Mesa, AZ. They were involved in a plane crash on Aug. 18, 2008 and miraculously they both survived. Even though I have never met Stephanie or her husband I feel very close to them and pray for them daily. For one I think it may be because they live in Mesa, AZ which is where I was born and spend 43 years of my life. They actually lived only a few miles from where I use to live. I love the way she lives and looks at life, how she is with her husband, kids, family, friends, etc. She just loves life and you can tell in her pictures. As soon as I read about them and started reading her blog I felt a deep connection and could not get them out of my mind. I was praying, thinking about them constantly. I would go to bed praying and thinking about them, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about them. They both touched me and I can tell that I'm not the only one they have touched. The dr's don't understand how Stephanie survived with over 80% of her body badly burned but she did and is now in a Utah rehabilitation facility close to her family, husband and children. I tell you it the power of prayer and also the love that everyone has for them. I believe everything happens for a reason, although I question God about certain obstacles that happen in my life. My question to him is "What am I supposed to learn from this?". I don't think God did this to teach Christian and Stephanie something I think he did it to teach us something.....how to look and live life like they do, live in the moment, etc.
If you have some time and want to know more about them read the article and her blog, you will find out what an amazing woman, daughter, mother, wife, sister and friend she is and how much her and Christian love each other and what an amazing family they have. Here is an article about them that was in the New York Times. Please pray for them and their 4 children. They both have a long road ahead of them and she has many, many more surgeries but with all the love and prayers I have faith that she will be okay and they will be okay. Christian has already gone through what she is starting to go through so he is there for her. He said he will never leave her. What an amazing man he is and the deep love they have for each other. May God Bless you both and my thoughts and prayers are always with you and your family.

Weekends over!

Gosh, it's been awhile since I have posted to my blog, I will try to post more often. Well this weekend was grandchildren weekend. Yesterday, was our Thanksgiving since we won't have Daisy and Brandon this year. Bobby worked and while he worked I was slaving away in the kitchen. I roasted a 20 lb. turkey in our convection oven, made stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes with brown sugar/pecan topping (all from scratch), rolls, gravy and cranberry. It was so yummy! Angelo, Amanda and Caden joined us along with my grandson Lil' Richie. Richie and Daisy had a blast playing outside, he is quite the character. He wanted Daisy to take a picture of his nana and him making a funny face, so here it is, just for you mijo! All in all, it was a good day but I was in bed at 9:00 on a Sat. night, LOL! The cooking and kids wore me out. This morning I got up early and got ready for church. Angelo, Amanda and Caden met us there and they wanted to go Christmas shopping and I told them I would watch Caden. Well 8 hours later they showed up, LOL! Thank goodness he is such a good boy, he was actually no problem at all. Daisy really helps out alot, she is so good with the little ones, knows just how to keep them occupied.
So what is every one's plans for Turkey Day? Bobby and I are going to my sister Sylvia and her husband Vince's house and my mom and kids will be there.
We're picking up Lil' Richie on the way and taking him with us. It's nice that he lives so close now, can spend more time with him.
Yea, it's a short week, only 3 days of work. Turkey day on Thursday and on Friday Bobby and I are heading up to Sedona with Daisy and Brandon and meeting some friends of ours up there to picnic and hang out. Hopefully it won't be too cold as we heard on the news that cold weather is coming for Thanksgiving, but than again it will make it feel more like the holidays and get us all in the spirit! Well, everyone have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!

Memory Walk for my Daddy!

Yesterday morning Bobby, Angelo, Amanda, Caden and I went on a 3 mile memory walk for Alzheimer's in Sun City West. I walked in memory of my father, Bobby walked in memory of his grandmother, Angelo walked in memory of his grandmother and Amanda walked in memory of her great grandfather. We all had someone close to us who had Alzheimer's. I am hoping and praying that they find a cure for this horrible disease. It is harder on the family than it is on the person who has it. I miss my daddy so much:( Here are some pictures that we took.

Daisy got braces!

Daisy was so excited when she woke up this morning because today she was going to get her braces put on and also because she smelled the banana bread that was in the oven that her daddy had baked especially for her. He knows how much she likes banana bread and wanted to make sure she had some for this special day, as well making sure she had a full tummy because we didn't know how long it was going to take and if she would even be able to eat lunch after she got her braces on, as we didn't know how sore her mouth would be. We arrived at the Orthodontist at 9:00am and they took us right back. They explained what they were going to be doing to her and that there would be NO pain, which was the important part to her. Dr. Cain says "We're the good guys", LOL! She was such a trooper, she layed in that chair for almost 3 hours and never complained. She was finally done about 11:30am and was starving and thirsty. We took her to McDonald's where she ate chicken nuggets, french fries and drank Hi-C. She only got wire on her bottom teeth. She has to go to the regular dentist to have a tooth extracted so there is room for her canine to come in, once the tooth is extracted we will take her back to have the wire put on her top braces. Hopefully the canine tooth will come out correctly, especially with a little help from Dr. Cain, otherwise she will have to go to an Oral Surgeon and we don't want to do that. She is learning what she can and can't eat and remembering to brush her teeth after every meal, which she will have to do at school as well. Here are some before, during and after pictures of Daisy. Bobby thought I was crazy taking pictures but according to Dr. Cain everyone does it. I was thinking what great scrapbook pages these will make, LOL!

I'm so sad.......Terry moved to Oregon:(

Terry, one of my best friends at work moved to Hood River, Oregon this morning. Her last day of work was yesterday, it was so hard to say goodbye to her. She wouldn't say "goodbye" she said "I'll see you later". I am going to miss her so much. She made work so enjoyable, had an infectious laugh and I could talk to her about anything and everything. We both confided each other all the time. She is a great graphic artist and did a great job on my ads, especially cuz she knows how anal I am about certain things, LOL! Terry, if you are reading this (which you better be, LOL) you will truly be missed and Bobby and I will definitely come and see you and Scott. Don't forget to have the Grey Goose and Red Bull waiting for us, LOL! Take care friend and know that I love you!

Weekend

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, I know I am! Yesterday my daughter, mother, aunt and mother in law came over for a visit and lunch. Bobby grilled for an army. We had barbecue ribs, steak, chicken, baked potatoes, asparagus and WINE!!! Had to have wine for my crazy mother and Aunt Carmen. We watched the DVD of Michael Buble live in concert in LA and they absolutely loved it! My mom and mother in law had seen it before but that was the first time for Aunt Carmen and she kept saying how much she enjoyed it. We ate dinner at our new dinette set so I guess you could say we de-virginized it, LOL! It was nice to have the first meal at our new table with them. My mom just turned 85 last Monday, my Aunt Carmen (her baby sister) is 73, and Ofelia (Bobby's mother) is 79. We had such a nice time visiting with them. They were here at 11am and before we knew it it was 4:30. Time flies when you're having fun. Bobby went to the grocery store early Sat. morning and surprised me with a dozen roses, they are opening up and are gorgeous! It's so nice to have someone spoil me, he's such a sweetheart! Today we are laying around watching football and I'm also doing laundry. The Vikings finally won their first game today so Bobby is in a good mood!!! Now the Cardinals, well that's a different story. I hope everyone has a good week and hopefully I'll post soon. Daisy gets her braces on this Friday so I'm sure I'll be posting about that along with pictures. Until than......
